"History is written by the victors" is supposed to be a negative phrase about revisionist history lmao
I consider Wikipedia as the last remnant of non-algorithmic internet. It's insane how IRL everything is laser focused to make you participate in the market with advertising and rigid home-work routine. The internet used to be the refuge from all of that stuff but lately has been treated the same.
Wikipedia has its faults, but for what it is its really impressive. The way the founders were able to motivate users to catalog, fact check, and develop really robust articles about... everything for casual readers to educate themselves on. It's an actual marvel.
I love how he is at war with like fucking reality itself. He was not one of the founders of Tesla. He was an early investor.
Wikipedia isn't refreshingly dull, it's just refreshing. It is endlessly new, instead of antisocial media throwing the same hateclick nonsense around day after day for years
The fact that Elon Musk is mad at it is the ultimate seal of aproval.
Wikipedia as a primary source is spotty at best, but Wikipedia as a resource for GATHERING primary sources is something that humanity can never be allowed to give up.
If we ever lose Wikipedia I will have no hope left for the internet.
The more time you spend looking at Recent conflicts around the world, Political or not, the more you see that theres always a misinformation war involved.
If he founded Tesla he probably would have called it Xcars or something.
It was funny seeing people's perception of Elon go from real life "Genius Tony Stark Ironman" to " dumb billionaire manchild crybaby".
Musk trying to buy Wikipedia is the best reason to donate to Wikipedia I've ever heard. Can't let that man ruin an actually credible site
How are humans 75% water when this dude is 100% salt?
So basically, Elon Musk is mad that his Wikipedia article actually states the truth instead of the lie that he's trying to convince the world is true.
He hates what he can’t own and control. Megalomaniac.
often, teachers tell us not to use wikipedia but instead, they should be teaching us how to use it to begin our research investigations.
As an editor myself, Elon Musk owning Wikipedia is a horrific thought.
It's simple, Musk hates any information source he doesn't have control over
Over the years I have come to learn that Elon Musk is the prime example of why billionaires shouldn't exist
